Galentine’s Day, February 13, 2021, is the day before Valentine’s Day. You’ve most likely heard of this fun day, but what exactly is it? Here’s the deep roots of the fun holiday according to National Today, “The female friendships we so heavily rely on are celebrated each year on Galentine’s Day on February 13. Originating from the popular TV show ‘Parks and Recreation,’ the holiday is all about declaring love and affection to the girls who make up our support system.” Another fun fact: Parks and Recreation is a fictional TV show based out of Indiana. Basically, what we’re saying, is that it’s meant-to-be that you celebrate your girl tribe! Don’t let anyone tell you different!
Here are a few different events around town that’ll give you opportunity to celebrate those lovely friends in your circle. However, you don’t need something super fancy to let those friends know you love and appreciate them! Drop a little “thank you” letter in their mailbox, deliver a single flower and chocolates, or maybe just spend the evening watching a movie together. Thankfulness and acknowledgement of someone goes a long way- no matter your budget.
